Applications Now Being Accepted for New Graduate Programs

Teachers and coaches from over 25 different cities and towns across Pennsylvania and from as far away as China have expressed interest in the new online Master of Science in Education: Major in Early Childhood Literacy and the Letter of Endorsement in Teacher Leadership & Instructional Coaching, offered jointly by LSI and Wilkes University and based on Reading First courses. While admissions decisions on completed applications for the fall have been made, applications are still being accepted and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

The Master of Science in Education: Major in Early Childhood Literacy is a 33-credit degree program which explores in-depth a comprehensive literacy framework that makes educators more effective with any district core curriculum.

The prestigious Letter of Endorsement in Teacher Leadership & Instructional Coaching is a 12-credit program which results in a joint declaration from LSI and Wilkes University recognizing that an individual has gained and demonstrated the sophisticated skills and knowledge necessary to be an effective teacher leader and instructional coach.

Reading First teachers are eligible for a special reduced graduate tuition rate of $554 per three credit course, a savings of over $450 off of the regular Wilkes University tuition. Wilkes University, founded in 1933, is located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on a 27-acre campus. Wilkes is an accredited member of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and its graduate programs are approved by the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
